The NQP has gone through several phases of stakeholders consultation with contributions from various public and private institutions and development agencies such as the PTB, the TRAQUE program and UNIDO. The document is now ready for validation, after which it will be sent to the Government for approval.

Most quality Infrastructure institutions have already been put in place and are working well. For example, Ghana has set up a national standards body whose activities include standards development and quality promotion, metrology and conformity assessment (inspection, testing and certification). There are currently several public and private conformity assessment bodies. Some of them are accredited and offer their services to the sub-region.
