Among all the countries, Mauritania is distinguished by a rapid formalization of the NQP project prepared under the supervision of an expert recruited by the Programme. In fact, less than a month after the validation of the NQP project, the document was adopted by the Government at the Council of Ministers meeting on May 12, 2016. That is to say all the interest shown to the PNQ by the Mauritanian authorities. It should be recalled that this result follows an inclusive process with all stakeholders including the Directorate for Standardization and Quality Promotion (National Standards Body), Conformity Assessment Bodies (Laboratories and Services), Inspectorate), the Patronage, consumer protection associations, the quality association, etc.

An action plan has been prepared for the implementation of this NQP, which now constitutes a guiding document for the development of the National Quality Infrastructure. Since the Mauritanian NQP was formulated in harmony with the ECOWAS Regional Quality Policy, this will undoubtedly facilitate trade between Mauritania and the ECOWAS countries and strengthen regional integration.
