The Institute for Quality Management and Intellectual Property (IGQPI) of Cabo Verde celebrated Thursday, November 12th, the World Quality Day, with a public event. The event took place in the Conference Room of the Hotel Praia Mar, in Praia, at 9 am.

The event has been attended by the Secretary of State for Finance, Dr. Gilberto Barros, and the President of the IGQPI Board of Directors, Mrs. Ana Paula Spencer Barros made a welcome message.

Within the scope of the activity, the IGQPI Certificate has been delivered in the ISO 9001: 2015 which is the most widely used management systems standard worldwide. Based on seven quality management principles, the Certification in this framework demonstrates the conformity of an organization's Quality Management System (QMS).

The agenda also included a moment for the signature of a cooperation protocol between IGQPI and Pro Empresa, as well communications on the following topics:

IGQPI's path towards its Certification; Quality as a Competitiveness factor for Organizations and Financing Programs for Certification in Cabo Verde.

The event has marked the beginning of the 1^st Edition of the Quality Month, which program provides the realization of several activities within the area of competence of the institution.

IGQPI is the national entity that aims to implement and develop the National Quality infrastructure and Intellectual Property Protection Systems in order to improve the quality of products, services and systems, the qualification of people and the protection of intellectual property rights in Cabo Verde.
