National consultants from Benin trained on the requirements of the standard ISO 9001 version 2015

They were about thirty national consultants from Benin to participate since this morning, Tuesday, June 5, 2018, in a training on the requirements of the standard ISO 9001 version 2015. The official opening took place in the conference room of the General Department of Industrial Development in Cotonou (Benin). Jointly launched by the Director General of the West Africa Accreditation System (SOAC), Mr. Marcel Gbaguidi, the Director General of the National Agency for Standardization, Metrology and Quality Control (ANM), Mr. Loukoumanou Osséni, and the Director General of Industrial Development as Chair of the WAQSP Monitoring Committee in Benin, this workshop aims to build capacity of these national consultants on the one hand, then to compare the key requirements of the 2008 version and the 2015 version, and understand the Quality Management System (QMS) on the other hand.

Indeed, the standard ISO 9001 in itself, it should be recalled, first appeared in 1987 and focused on quality assurance. It is then that based on the principle of revision which intervenes every five (05) years for the standards, it evolved of version in version until the current version 2015.

The consultant in charge of the training, Ms. Aline de SOUZA, returned to the five (05) major trends relating to the main changes that led to the 2015 version. According to her, it is: "Anticipating the needs and expectations '', '' Link Strategy and Quality Approach '', '' Master the Value Chain '', '' Evaluate / Improve QMS Performance '' and '' Integrate Quality Management Systems ''.

Regarding the principles, she pointed out that the standard ISO 9001 version 2008, with its eight (08) principles, has been changed to seven (07) principles with the standard lSO 9001 version 2015. This is, said the consultant, customer focus, leadership, employee involvement, process approach, improvement, evidence-based decision-making and relationship management.

This training workshop funded by the West African Quality System Program (WAQSP), itself funded by the European Union and implemented by UNIDO, will last three (03) days.
