Ghana: WAQSP strengthens the expertise of 22 national consultants in quality management system (ISO 9001: 2015)

A national three-day training workshop was held, from 22-24 May 2018, at the Ghana Standards Authority headquarters in Accra, as part of the implementation of the activities of the WAQSP. This Programme, funded by the European Union and implemented by UNIDO, has enabled twenty-two (22) national consultants to develop skills in quality management system, in particular ISO 9001: 2015 and to promote the availability of this expertise to the public and private sectors.

Mr. Georgios Tsopanakis, Program Officer, Macroeconomic and Trade Section of the Delegation of the European Union to Ghana, emphasized that this workshop builds the capacity of these national consultants whose skills will contribute to creating an environment that facilitates compliance with the rules of the international trade and technical regulations on the one hand, and encourage organizations to implement quality management systems in Ghana because of the enormous benefits of competitiveness, trade facilitation, quality assurance, and so on, on the other hand. H e finally opened the workshop.
