QMS/Mali: 30 resource persons trained to the requirements of ISO 9001 version 2015

Like the other member States of ECOWAS, the Republic of Mali, with the support of WAQSP, held, from 2 to 4 July 2018, at the center of the private sector in Bamako, a national training workshop on the requirements of ISO 9001 version 2015. In total, 30 resource persons were trained on these requirements of the ISO 9001 version 2015 standard so that they can contribute more effectively to the quality management system at the country level.

At the opening of the meeting, Mr. Yaya Niafo, Director General of AMANORM, National Focal Point of WAQSP, thanked the participants and recalled the overall objective of the workshop, namely to strengthen the availability of expertise in the Quality Management System (QMS) in the sub region, particularly in Mali. Mr. Ibrahim Hama, Secretary General and representative of the Minister of Industrial Development (MID), for his part, reaffirmed the commitment of the Government of the Republic of Mali to implement the National Quality Policy (NQP) in order to the development of a National Quality Infrastructure that contributes to the management and promotion of quality in the country.

During these three days, under the direction of the training consultant selected by UNIDO, Dr. Ibrahima Sangare, detailed presentations on the Quality Management System were presented, notably on the evolution of the ISO 9001 standard and the different changes; the challenges of quality; the requirements of the ISO 9001: 2015 standard and their application with practical examples followed by lively discussions between the participants. The assessment of the participants and the correction of the works carried out made it possible to better appreciate their level of control of this standard.

At the end of the workshop, certificates of participation were given to participants who thanked the WAQSP for this opportunity.
