The Mauritanian State and the WAQSP reinforce the national human resources to the requirements of ISO 14001 v 2015

The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Tourism of Mauritania, in collaboration with the West Africa Quality System Programme (WAQSP) funded by the European Union and executed by UNIDO, organized, from 29 to 31 October 2018, in Nouakchott a training workshop on the requirements of ISO 14001 version 2015.

The work of the three-day workshop aimed at training national human resources on quality requirements and criteria and preparing them to improve their efficiency and minimize costs by lowering their energy consumption, by managing better waste and raising national expertise in the assessment of company quality standards in line with environmental requirements.

Opening the workshop, Ms. El Alia MintMenkouss, Secretary General of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Tourism, said ISO 14001 is a mechanism to provide companies with environmental responsibilities with practical means of control and control of their activities, so that they do not have a negative impact on climate change. "The number of certifications granted according to the ISO requirements reached 300 thousand in 2015 in more than 180 countries", she said before appreciating very strongly the support of partners in Mauritania in particular, the West Africa Quality System Programme, the European Union and UNIDO.

During the three days, participants became familiar with the requirements of this standard (ISO / IEC 14001 version 2015) as well as the specificities that characterize it.

At the end of the workshop, certificates were given to participants.
