As part of the development and harmonization of metrology activities in the ECOWAS region, the ECOWAS Commission, in collaboration with the PTB, organized from 20 to 24 June 2022 in Abidjan (Côte d'Ivoire), the ordinary meetings of the Technical Committees (TC) of ECOMET followed by the 6th meeting of ECOMET.
The technical meetings concerned the following committees:
- CT1 Awareness;
- CT2 Legal metrology;
- CT3 Mass;
- CT4 Thermometry;
- CT5 Quality Management;
- Pr
- ECOMET guides and
- Steering Committee.
In addition, it should be noted that the holding of the 6th meeting of ECOMET made it possible to examine and adopt the following points:
- the action plans for the activities of the technical committees;
- the level of implementation;
- the updated ECOMET action plans of each CT for the year 2022;
- relaunching and updating ECOMET activities for each Technical Committee for 2022;
- the current challenges of regional metrology;
- the statutes of ECOMET - Final positioning of the member countries;
- the status of the ECOWAS-PTB cooperation programme.
The conclusions of the work of the CTs and of the 6th Meeting of ECOMET resulted in a note of general satisfaction.
