The draft of Benin’s NQP was validated on May 24, 2016 in the presence of all the stakeholders. The process is at the adoption stage at the level of the Council of Ministers. Meanwhile, thanks to the active involvement of the Minister of Industry, Trade and Handicrafts and his colleague of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, the points that do not require financial resources are being implemented. For example:

-the effective fusion of the standardization body and the metrology body;

-the reorganization of the Beninese Food Safety Agency to ensure the federation of the food safety control bodies;

-the implementation of actions to ensure the quality of certain products (bread, iron bars, pineapples, pharmaceutical products, etc.);

-the establishment of a pre-shipment verification system;

-and the assignment of a person responsible for monitoring the synergy of actions between the various quality Infrastructure departments.
